LEGAZPI CITY-Filipinos trust media more today amid corruption issues in the government, outpacing the different government bodies and civil society groups based on a nationwide Pulse Asia survey.

According to the data of Pulse Asia, half of Filipino adults expressed confidence in non-government watchdogs, showed 51% giving “big trust” to media and 50% to civil society groups to address corruption in flood-control projects.

By contrast, government entities fared poorly with a “big majority” of 81% distrust to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The survey also found that the distrust is plurality sentiment toward the President with 45%.

The Filipinos’ trust in the Senate stood at 37% with 36% undecided, the House of Representatives at 25% with 40% undecided, and the Office of the Ombudsman at 39% with 43% undecided.

The newly formed Independent Commission for Infrastructure logged 23% trust, with 56% undecided about its credibility.

Outside of media or the non-government organizations (NGOs), most institutions face indecision or distrust with the ICI.

The survey of Pulse Asia to 1,200 adults was conducted on September 27–30, 2025 via face-to-face interviews and has a ±2.8 percentage-point margin of error.
